APHIS Waste Treatment

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) oversees the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) program to protect agricultural health and defend America's animal and plant resources from agricultural pests and diseases. Any garbage (any food, food scraps, table refuse, galley refuse, food wrappers or packaging materials, and other waste materials from food stores) arriving in the USA through border crossings, airports and shipping ports shall be quarantined, packaged and treated by steam sterilization or incineration as required by USDA waste treatment regulations.

All USDA APHIS garbage must be packaged and contained in leak proof covered receptacles (containers). All properly packaged garbage must be transported to a USDA APHIS Approved treatment facility. Today, the majority of those USDA APHIS waste treatment facilities rely on Bondtech Treatment Technology (BTT):
